Room
Addition One of the most important things you can do is ask questions. Whatever the addition, pay close attention to the floor plan. Ask does it meet the original goal? Are there enough electrical outlets? Is there enough storage and a work area? Does the addition fit with your existing home? The floor plan is your guide to solving problems before they start. Study it carefully. When planning a room addition, write down the goals for the addition. Then make a wish list of the things it could include or function as. Then think of all the things that go with each function such as a computer room needs electrical outlets, lighting and a work surface. A garage needs to be able to hold a vehicle but it also needs storage and maybe a work area. Don't just think of the room as four walls, think of it as living space...your living space. When you meet with your contractor go over your list and discuss all the possibilities for the added space. Ask the contractor for input in case there is something you missed. |
